The drive
About two hours, most of it on the motorway
L’Estartit lies on the northern edge of the Baix Empordà. The route follows the motorway towards France, leaves it near Girona and crosses the Empordà plain to Torroella de Montgrí, from where a short road reaches the sea. The whole trip is usually about two hours, depending on traffic, which can be heavier on Fridays and on Sundays in summer.
L’Estartit is a separate destination from its neighbour L’Escala, a little further north on the same bay, and from Begur, a little further south. Choose L’Estartit in the search box to see its own fixed price.
The coast
From Blanes to Cadaqués, one fixed price
We drive the whole coast and the towns inland, always with Barcelona at the other end of the trip. Door to door, straight to your hotel, villa or campsite. Tap a town to see its page.

Where we drop you off
The town, the long beach and the campsites
Town centre and harbour
The streets behind the harbour, with hotels, restaurants and the boats that sail to the islands.
The long beach
A wide sandy beach of several kilometres that runs south of the harbour. Many apartments and holiday flats are a few minutes’ walk from it.
Torroella de Montgrí
The historic town a few kilometres inland, with a castle on the hill, if your accommodation is there rather than on the coast.
Campsites and residential areas
Several campsites surround the town. If yours limits vehicles at certain hours, we stop at reception and help you with the luggage.
While you are there
Diving, walking and the Montgrí
The Medes Islands are a small archipelago just off the coast and a marine reserve, and L’Estartit is the main departure point for boat trips and dives. Many visitors come to dive, snorkel or kayak, and there are diving centres along the harbour. If you bring your own equipment, tell us when you book: it takes space, and we take it into account when choosing the vehicle.
Behind the town, the Montgrí massif has marked paths with views over the coast and the plain, and you can reach the beaches and villages of the Baix Empordà in a short drive. Do check the official information for the reserve before you travel, as access to the islands is regulated.
Coach or private transfer
Why people book it ahead
There is no railway to L’Estartit and the public transport from Barcelona involves a change and a long journey. For a family arriving with a week or two of luggage, child seats and beach or diving gear, one vehicle from the terminal to the door is simpler. Tell us how many suitcases and bags you bring; extra luggage that was not booked is charged on the day.
Going back
From L’Estartit to Barcelona
We collect you at your hotel, apartment or campsite and drive you to the airport, the city centre, Sants Station or the cruise port. Book both directions together and change the return for free if your plans move, with 24 hours’ notice or more.
